Helping children heal, grow and explore through play - compassionately and creatively, with deep respect for each child’s unique journey
Welcome
Welcome to Lucia Felgate Play Therapy Ltd. I offer trauma-informed, child-centred therapeutic support for children and families across Hampshire. My sessions take place within each child’s school, creating a familiar and accessible space for emotional healing and growth.

About Me
My name is Lucia Felgate, a qualified Play Therapist registered with Play Therapy UK (PTUK)

I bring over 15 years’ experience as a former primary school teacher, alongside specialist training in play therapy and trauma-informed care.
I have supported children across educational, social care, and therapeutic settings—including those navigating adoption, transitions in care, and court-directed interventions. My approach is integrative, holistic, and child-led, offering children a safe space to explore emotions through play, art, and storytelling.
I work exclusively within school settings, using dedicated spaces provided by each child’s school. This allows therapy to be accessible, consistent, and embedded within the child’s daily environment.

Why Play Therapy?
Play Therapy offers children a natural and developmentally appropriate way to explore life’s challenges. For many children, play is their first language—making it a powerful medium for expressing thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to articulate verbally.
Through story, metaphor, and symbolic play, children can create a safe distance from overwhelming feelings and experiences. This gentle degree of removal allows them to process emotions in a way that feels less intense and more manageable.
Play Therapy provides a secure, attuned space where children can explore their inner world, build emotional resilience, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. It supports healing, growth, and self-expression—especially for children navigating trauma, transitions, or complex emotional needs.
